Legal notice
Last updated 1 March 2026
This page is the formal legal imprint for aisummary.link. It exists so that anyone who needs to reach us for a legal matter — a rights holder, a regulator, a journalist with a question that belongs in writing — knows where we are and how to find us.
Who runs this
aisummary is operated by a small independent studio of three people, based in Portland, Oregon, United States. The studio trades under the name aisummary. We are not a corporation. We are not a C-Corp. We are a partnership of three, filed properly in the state of Oregon, paying our taxes, and answering our mail.
If the form of the business changes — if we incorporate, if we take on investors, if we merge — we will update this page first, before anywhere else.
Where to write for legal matters
The fastest route for a legal question is the contact form. Write Legal in the first line of your message. The three of us read it directly. We reply within a few business days.
If you need postal address for a formal notice, request it through the contact form and we will send it back. We do not publish a physical address here because it is three peoples' studio, and we'd rather keep it off the open web. This is standard practice for small studios.
Rights holders and takedowns
If you are the rights holder of a piece of content and you do not want aisummary to summarize your pages, write to us through the contact form. Include the URL pattern and proof of rights. We will block the pattern from the service within seventy-two business hours and acknowledge receipt to the email you provide.
We do not host the source content. We summarize it on request, from the public web, at a respectful rate. Blocking on our side means the summary is no longer generated, which is usually what rights holders want.
Regulators
If you are writing on behalf of a regulator — a data protection authority, a consumer protection office, a tax authority — please identify the office and the matter clearly in your first message. We will respond through formal channels and in writing. We keep a record of every regulatory inquiry and the response.
Law enforcement
We respond to valid legal process. We require a court order for the disclosure of any user data, and we notify the affected user unless the order specifically forbids us from doing so. We publish an annual report on the number of requests we receive and what we did with each one.
We do not voluntarily share user data with law enforcement, domestic or foreign. We do not run a backdoor. We do not have a warrant canary because we have never received a request of the kind that would require one, and we are skeptical of the signal value of canaries in general.
Language
The binding version of all legal documents on this site is the English original. Translated versions, when they exist, are provided for convenience only. If there is a conflict between the translated and the English text, the English text governs.
Applicable law
All legal matters are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, and by U.S. federal law where applicable. See the Terms of Service for the forum clause.
